The view on modern hippies has changed a little since the 1960's. They still are environmentally friendly, free spirited, and happy when in nature. The clothing style has changed; in the 1960's, most hippies wore patterned bell bottoms and loose shirts. Now, the urban (next generation) hippie tends to be seen in the summer in ripped or cut off shorts, a crop top, and a loose shawl. We are also seen in long skirts and crop tops. We tend to only brush our hair, let it be natural, not straighten or curl it. Remember, this is just stereotyped, do what you want to do. I know I don't follow the natural bit, I dyed the tips of my hair bright red.
Buying environmentally friendly clothing can be expensive, so I suggest buying used clothing. Thrift stores can always use the cleared space. Also, clothes can be made into other things. For example, a stained shirt can be dyed and cut into at least two headbands. Just be creative with it!
Are there any good ideas for reusing or recycling products?
