Hippies don't always travel and live in a Volkswagen bus. There is this style called Bohemian and it is similar to a stereotypical hippie style, except there is no bus. Bohemian homes are usually covered in eccentric looking rugs, blankets, pillows, furniture. Everything. The rugs look like traditional, indie rugs. The blankets are hand dyed with dark in the background and splashes of color (sometimes, tie dyed). Pillows are normally just bright colors (orange, green, yellow, pink, etc.) The beds have multiple quilts and piles of pillows.
A bohemian house for a single person, maybe two (if they are living together) seems pretty much like a studio apartment. Everything is in one room, except the bathroom. You find a lot of dream catchers, and plants. You also find a lot of art and decorations that seem like they are there to take up space. For example, i have a peace sign necklace on my wall, two dream catchers, old maps of some states, and a spray paint poster of the new york skyline. A lot of times, the furniture is all wooden, and there are a lot of bookshelves. That's another thing that a lot of hippies like while at home, books. Books are a way to escape the world and walk into a dream.
